Saw an amazing new country artist at Puckett‘s in Franklin. This little lady has got the pipes. Her name is Camille Rae and she recently released her debut album, I Need Me. With her band having the night off, Camille’s solo act was very entertaining. But the big surprise was at the end of the evening, Camille threw the audience a curve ball covering Alicia Key’s “Fallin.” The only word I can come up with is, incredible. I have the feeling we will be hearing more from Camille in the near future.
A great night at the Nashville City Winery with Tinsley Ellis giving the audience what they wanted, an amazing show. He and his band performed for over 90 minutes playing many songs from his new album, Tough Love. Tough Love received the 2015 Blues Blast Award for best rock/blues category. A great night seeing Markey Blue’s performance at Sam’s Sports Grill. The band showed their versatility preforming new material for an upcoming movie and TV show, but also covered many tunes from Wilson Pickett to Sam and Dave. The night ended with Kenny Cramer and Jake Willemain sitting in as well. Both accomplished musicians, Jake has had 28 years playing bass for Clint Black. Their latest album, Hey Hey is Awesome!!
Had an awesome night in Nashville last night. I went to the GEORGE JONES MUSEUM . Its a very cool place, got to meet and chat with George’s wife NANCY, and took in some country music from Donna Phillips Schacher, formerly with Mustang Sally with her husband Jim Schacher, and Ric Wright. Jim and Ric currently play with TG SHEPPARD. An added bonus to the evening Billy Yates sat in on a few numbers who wrote “Choices” and “I Don’t Need Your Rockin Chair.” A great evening, Nancy is a diamond in the rough, a class act, and will carry on keeping country music alive and well. The museum is fantastic with so much to see and read, probably need to make a second trip. You need to put this on your “things to do list.”
